Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Articles submitted to be published must be inline with:

  1. The article must be an original work and must not have been previously published in any other media. It should present either a conceptual analysis or research findings in the disciplines of Qur’anic Studies and Tafsir (see Focus and Scope). Articles may be written in English, Arabic, or Indonesian.
  2. Manuscripts must be prepared on A4-sized paper using Palatino Linotype font size 11 pt. For Arabic articles written in Uthman Taha Naskh font, the font size should be 14 pt with single line spacing. The line spacing for non-Arabic articles should be exactly 14 pt. The length of the manuscript should range between 6,000 and 8,000 words at maximum, including abstracts, references, and footnotes, with a total length of approximately 15 to 25 pages.
  3. Each article must include an abstract that summarizes the entire content of the manuscript, with a length of 100 to 175 words, accompanied by three to five keywords. Abstracts must be provided in both English and Indonesian. The author’s full name should be written without academic titles and must include an active email address and the full institutional affiliation or homebase, whether for employment or study.
  4. All manuscripts must be prepared in MS Word format and submitted through the journal website at https://quranika.journal.unida.gontor.ac.id/index.php/quranika/index, with submission confirmation sent via email to studiaquranika@unida.gontor.ac.id.
  5. Articles must use footnotes following this format: author’s name without academic titles, followed by a comma and space, book title in italics, a comma and space, opening parenthesis, place of publication, colon, publisher’s name, comma, edition, volume (if any), issue or series (if any), publication year, closing parenthesis, comma, space, and page number (using ص for Arabic articles), followed by a period.
  6. Authors are required to use reference management tools such as Mendeley or Zotero, and all references must follow the Chicago Manual of Style, 17th edition, (full note).
